The
experience of the muscle contraction is described differently by different
people. Some say, as a "flying sensation on the skin surface," and
others may feel "worms crawling under the skin." Medically, it will
be called fasciculations. It follows from the involuntary contraction of a
muscle group in your body. Muscle contractions can occur in small muscles such
as the eyelids, upper lip and behind the ears. Even the larger muscles such as
facial muscles, neck muscles, back muscles, calf muscles can also occur, this
type of contraction. Sometimes the intensity of shaking is a bit less and is
hardly noticeable. On the other hand, is non-stop intense muscle contractions
embarrassing condition.
The
underlying causes muscle contraction may or may not be a serious problem. Some
of the most common causes that lead to opportunity are twitching of the muscles
as follows:
•
Excessive movement often causes twitching in the legs.
•
Stress and Anxiety
• Dehydration
• Lack
of calcium and magnesium
• Side
effects of medications such as diuretics, corticosteroids, etc.

overdose
If
there is a constant muscle twitching all over my body, which occurs over an
extended period, then it could be a symptom of an underlying medical condition
to his health. These medical conditions include:
• The
weakness in the muscles
•
Damage caused by a particular nerve in the body that controls the muscle
twitches.
•
Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a degenerative muscle disease that is usually
hereditary.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a disease that affects nerve cells in the
central nervous system, which is responsible for controlling voluntary muscles
of the body.

muscular dystrophy, a genetic disorder that causes a weakening of the muscles.
How to
Stop Muscle
In
general, muscle contractions can not require medication. He may be a few simple
steps at home and some lifestyle changes. They are as follows:
Hydrate
the body
If
your body is dehydrated, electrolytes such as potassium and sodium is lost. A
deficiency of these substances leads to an electrolyte imbalance in the body,
which in turn affect the normal coordination of muscle groups, and gave them a
contract. Therefore, you should increase fluid intake and restore electrolyte
balance in the body.
Dealing
with stress
If you
are under a lot of stress lately, then you should check to get rid of muscle
contractions. You can try to relax a variety of relaxation techniques like
yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, to the mind and body. Once the tension
subsided, you will no longer have muscle contractions.
Rest
In
most cases, muscle twitching is a sign that the muscles are tired. So you
should at least 8-10 hours at night, if you bothered by this problem are made
to sleep provide adequate rest for the muscles. In addition, sleep is a good
way to relax the mind and to control psychological stress.
Reduce
consumption of caffeine
Coffee,
tea, lemonade, the high amount of caffeine that tend to dehydrate the body.
Limit consumption of caffeinated beverages and you can avoid electrolyte
imbalance in the body. Thus, the probability of involuntary contraction of the
muscles of the group is reduced.
Massage
Therapy
Basically,
massage helps to relax muscles and stop shaking. You can dilute a little
lavender oil in a carrier oil like olive oil and use it to massage the affected
muscle. In addition, the essential oil has a remarkable effect on the
relaxation of the muscles.
The
lack of calcium and magnesium can cause tremors in the muscles. Therefore, you
should take supplements of calcium and magnesium, the muscles strong and
healthy. It should be monitored in order to ensure better absorption of calcium
in the body by vitamin D supplements. It is advisable to consult a doctor to
determine the dosage of these drugs.
Now is
the means to stop muscle contractions known to you. If these treatments do not
yield satisfactory results, or spasms are accompanied by other symptoms, then
it might require a symptom of a major health problem requiring medical
treatment.
